SmallSpaceCat.com (“SmallSpaceCat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes articles about caring for cats in apartments and small homes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Comments are currently disabled on this site, so we do not collect any personal information through comments.
Information We Collect
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and performance purposes.
Newsletter (if you subscribe). If we offer an email newsletter, the only information collected is the email address you choose to provide, used solely to send you SmallSpaceCat updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
This site uses the technical cookies required for WordPress to function (for example, to keep an administrator logged in). We do not use comment cookies, since commenting is currently disabled. We also use a small number of analytics cookies set by Jetpack Stats, described below.
Affiliate Links and Amazon Associates Disclosure
SmallSpaceCat is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Some links in our articles are affiliate links, and any post that includes them carries a disclosure statement. We only recommend products we believe are genuinely useful for cats in small spaces.
Embedded Content
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos or images) from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the other website directly, and that website may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
Analytics and Advertising
We use Jetpack Stats (provided by Automattic) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use this site (for example, how many people viewed a page, and which country or referring site they came from). Jetpack Stats may collect your IP address, approximate location (country/region level), browser and device type, the pages you visit, the site or search engine that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. It uses a cookie to help distinguish visitors and avoid counting the same visit twice. We only see this data in aggregate form (for example, “312 views this week”) — we cannot identify you individually from it. This data is processed by Automattic; see the Automattic Privacy Policy for details.
We do not currently run display advertising (such as Google AdSense) on this site. If we add advertising or additional analytics tools in the future, this policy will be updated to describe the data collected and the cookies used, and, where required, we will request your consent.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. Standard hosting server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes, in line with our hosting provider’s practices. Jetpack Stats data (including IP addresses in raw log form) is retained by Automattic for up to 28 days before being aggregated or discarded; see their privacy policy for details.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you can ask us to send you the data we hold about you, or to delete it, at any time by contacting us below.
